Meet the Founders

Ricola Elizabeth’s passion for styling and maintaining healthy hair began long before opening Perfect Distraction Hair Gallery in 2018. As a teenager, she built her skills braiding hair in her local community before gaining industry knowledge working as a brand representative for a beauty supply store, where she developed deep expertise in hair extensions and care.

After an unexpected partnership ended, Ricola turned that setback into motivation to build something of her own. With a strong business mindset and passion for hair, she laid the foundation for her brand—offering styling, restoration, and premium hair products.

Through perseverance and dedication, Ricola brought her vision to life, successfully launching Perfect Distraction Hair Gallery.

The textured hair industry is filled with talent—but often lacks access to consistent mentorship, business education, and collaborative opportunities.

Many professionals face:

  • Limited access to funding and business knowledge

  • Lack of mentorship and industry guidance

  • Gaps in professionalism and client experience

  • Minimal collaboration across the industry

LuxCon was created to bridge that gap—bringing education, access, and community into one powerful space.
